Stop Blue Marlin's Permit to Pollute

Energy Transfer wants to build the Blue Marlin Oil Port off the coast of Cameron Parish to load up to 275 crude oil supertankers a year for export. Under EPA’s draft permits, the terminal could release more than 1,300 tons a year of benzene and other toxic air pollutants, which are linked to lung disease, nervous system disorders and low birth weight. The permits would even let vapors vent directly into the air when the pollution controls fail.

Families are paying record prices for diesel and gas, and Gulf communities already breathe some of the most polluted air in the country. Blue Marlin would ship our oil overseas, leave the pollution here, and create just 39 permanent jobs.
