Tell Your Senators: Fight for All of Us and the Environment, Not Billionaires
The Senate is finalizing its version of a national budget bill that is this administration’s biggest attack yet on clean air and water, climate action, and nature.
Join us in demanding that your Senators stand up and stop enriching polluters, destroying the environment, and raising our household energy bills.
Tell your Senator to stop giveaways to billionaires and corporations and to:
- Stop the mandated sale of public lands in national forests, and near roadless areas, wilderness study areas, monuments and more. We shouldn’t give Big Oil, Gas, and Mining companies our public lands and destroy wildlife-rich nature so they can drill, mine, and rake in billions of dollars in profits.
- Protect the Methane Emissions Reduction Program. This is the strongest tool we have for helping companies reduce methane emissions that wreck the climate.
- Stand up for the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund. This money helps companies expand clean energy and protect the climate. The Senate and House budget proposals would wipe it out, increasing toxic emissions and damaging a growing clean energy economy that’s putting people to work in small towns and cities across the country.
- Protect fragile landscapes and wildlife across Alaska and the Arctic. The budget gives the go-ahead to the Ambler Road, a 211-mile private industrial mining road across pristine public lands in Alaska’s Southern Brooks Range. It would also open up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska, and offshore Alaskan waters to devastating drilling.
- Block “pay-to-play” and other permitting reform provisions that sell off wildlands to the highest bidder while blocking public participation and judicial review.
- Oppose allowing Big Oil and Gas to pay the Department of Energy to approve methane gas (LNG / Liquified Natural Gas) exports.
